WAD magazine, an urban fashion and lifestyle magazine based in Paris celebrates its 10th anniversary with a special ten-to-ten issue. Besides the idea that it’s their 10th birthday, they want to show that we who lived in the creative world, are somehow not like our parents who lived their nine-to-five life, but sometimes we go out working later than any other people, and finished later too, it’s like ten-to-ten life in someway. From some of the special features they present for this issue, there’s ‘Night on Earth’ that take us on a journey around the world at 10pm with photos taken by 15 different photographers in 15 fashionable cities around the globe; Tokyo, Madrid, Rio De Janeiro, Athens, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Helsinki, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Johannesburg, Mexico City, Stockholm, Bangkok, Paris, dan last but not least, our own Bali.
The photographer and stylist both agreed that they want to show Bali as an urban destination with lots of fashion avenues, cool clubs, and great parties rather than just beaches, waves, and local treats. Besides that, there are also what we called ‘toko’ or ‘warung’, a traditional grocery store that some of them open up 24 hours in addition to the more modern ‘circle K’ or ‘am pm’. There we can find locals and tourists shopping for cigarettes, snacks, and beers.
